12mm plywood is fixed onto the framework.

Breathable roofing membrane is stapled onto the plywood
to prevent damp coming through. Battens are then nailed onto the ply, through to the underlying
framework. Gaps have been left between the battens to allow air to circulate. |

Breathable roofing membrane is stapled onto the battens to contain the
cement render. |
Expanding metal mesh is tacked on next to hold the render. |

Bell bead is nailed on to the lower edge. Render is built up
as normal. Two scratch coats were put on to build
the thickness. |
The final coat of render is painted. |
