The plumber will install the sinks in kitchens and utility rooms - ensure you have got the kitchen fitter / carpenter in time to fit the worktops.

As long as you know the bath height, the tiles around the bath can be fixed before the bath, in order to protect the bath during tiling. The tiling must be started at just the correct height to enable about 3mm of sealant to be fixed between the tiles and bath.

In the photo to the left and below can be seen the liaison required to get the tiler in between 1st and 2nd fix plumbing. The plumber has brought the hot and cold pipes out for the shower - with the correct distance between them. The tiler should maintain this distance when tiling, before the 2nd fix installation of the thermostatic valve and shower riser.

Shower trays are usually installed first and then the floor tiles laid, cutting neatly to the tray.

Below, photos of a basin with 3/4 pedestal being fitted. In this room, the wall was battened out to provide a space for the water pipes and waste to be received into the pedestal. This is costly in terms of labour.
